Its a New Year

Well, it has been about a month since I last posted. I have been busy trying to meet deadlines. But I'm in a weird funk right now so its time to stop and reflect.

My first paintings for this new year are below:

These pieces started out as abstract landscapes but quickly became figurative. My story suddenly came alive. All this time I have been having consistently bad dreams. Weird, creepy dreams and when I awake from these dreams I have that lingering feeling of unease and fading images in my head. I can't recall the dreams really but sometimes images will just appear while I'm going about my day. As a result I started these figures. My dream ghosts I guess.

Now I am between projects and I am torn in two different directions. I will have to plan them both out in my sketchbooks and see what takes a hold of me most. 

By the way, today is David Bowie's birthday so make sure to listen to some Bowie tunes in his honor. His latest album is fabulous!
