Before Christmas I printed these two linocuts on some monoprinted colors so see where I was out them. I really liked the addition of color but felt that they jack rabbits were competing too much with the background textures.
I carved away some of the background but still left some texture as I did not want it to be a flat background. I then Used some monoprints in pale greens for subtle color.
I am pretty happy with the results now. Much better than before. The rabbits stand out from the background now and the color does not overwhelm.
