hey sarah, sure you can share my weird tribal bird thing on fb. How are you getting that awesome texture in the top painting? i totally give up. tell me how you made it.
That would be wax, my friend. I started with acrylic on this canvas and added some black mica flake acrylic medium to it in places so the texture would be really rough. then I painted oils over that and then beeswax and then more oils. There are so many layers in this piece. Oh! And that orange transparent bit in the top portion is an orange candle I melted down and poured on. I liked how transparent it was the color rocks. I'm a bit worried that it won't stay though. Candle wax is fragile and its not adhering well to the paint. Thank you for letting me share your art!
